Chirag Paswan opposes reservation system review

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan celebrated the Raksha Bandhan festival at his residence in Patna. Among those celebrating with him was Shambhavi Chaudhary, the party's youngest Member of Parliament from Samastipur, who described their bond as one that transcends blood relations.

During media interactions, Paswan reiterated his strong opposition to any proposals to review the reservation system. He characterized reservation as a vital tool for social justice and a constitutional right rather than a gift, asserting that it helps integrate marginalized communities into the mainstream. He warned that any changes to the existing framework could trigger widespread public protest.

Paswan's stance comes amid reported differences within NDA leaders regarding the issue, as Jitan Ram Manjhi, President of the Hindustani Awam Morcha, has called for a review of the reservation system.
