Chiranjeevi celebrates 71 years of cinematic influence

Telugu cinema icon Chiranjeevi is celebrating his 71st birthday, marking a career that has significantly shaped the economics and style of the Indian film industry. Born Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad in Mogalturu, Andhra Pradesh, the actor adopted a screen name rooted in Sanskrit mythology, signifying immortality.

Chiranjeevi rose to prominence in the late 1970s, with breakthrough films such as ‘Khaidi’ redefining commercial Telugu cinema. He became one of the first Indian actors to command a remuneration of Rs 1 crore and is credited with revolutionizing dance sequences in the industry. His accolades include the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan, and a Guinness World Record.
