Chiranjeevi unveils eco-friendly ‘Seed Ganesha’ idols in Hyderabad

Actor Chiranjeevi has joined the Green India Challenge to promote the ‘Seed Ganesha’ campaign ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2026. During an unveiling at his Hyderabad residence, the actor urged the public to adopt eco-friendly idols to mitigate the environmental damage caused by Plaster of Paris, which pollutes water resources.

The ‘Seed Ganesha’ initiative utilizes idols made from natural materials such as clay, cocopeat, and coconut fiber. These idols contain seeds of native trees, including neem and tamarind, allowing devotees to immerse the idols at home and subsequently grow trees.

Founder of the Green India Challenge and former MP J Santosh Kumar was present for the launch. The campaign, which began in 2020, reports that nearly 19.60 crore saplings have been planted across the country through its various initiatives.
