Chisinau hosts international conference on digital safety for children
An international conference titled ‘Online Safety and Digital Determinants of Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing of Children and Adolescents’ is being held in Chisinau, Moldova. The event focuses on the impact of social networks and the digital environment on the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people, as well as the risks associated with internet use.
Participants include Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Mirabela Grădinaru, and European Union Ambassador Iwona Piórko. Representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) are also in attendance. Experts from France, Belgium, Finland, Poland, and the Czech Republic are presenting European solutions for creating safer digital environments for youth.
During the conference, Mirabela Grădinaru addressed the importance of protecting children in a constantly changing digital landscape, noting that the distinction between the physical and digital worlds is increasingly disappearing.
