Ecuadorian fighter Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera secured a significant victory at UFC 331, defeating Charles Jourdain via technical knockout at 2:02 of the third round. This win ended a four-fight losing streak for Vera and earned him his first appearance in the UFC’s new META rankings system, which utilizes statistical models and machine learning rather than traditional journalist voting.

According to figures released by the California State Athletic Commission, Vera earned a total of US$400,000 for the bout. This amount consisted of a US$200,000 show purse and an additional US$200,000 for the win. This payout placed him among the top earners on the UFC 331 card.
