Anganwadi recruitment drives announced in Uttar Pradesh and Odisha

Various recruitment drives for Anganwadi workers and helpers are underway across several districts in India.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Department of Women and Child Development (ICDS UP) is conducting district-wise recruitment. In Jhansi, 223 positions are available for female candidates with a minimum qualification of 12th pass. In Chitrakoot, 92 vacancies have been announced, consisting of 23 workers and 69 helpers. Other districts including Kanpur, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Prayagraj are also involved in ongoing recruitment processes. Selection for these roles is based on merit lists derived from educational qualifications rather than written exams or interviews. Candidates must be permanent residents of the specific ward or village where the vacancy exists.

In Odisha, the Women and Child Development Department has released a notification for two Anganwadi worker vacancies in Khalipathar and Doromunda. Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old and have completed at least a +2 qualification. The application deadline for the Odisha positions is September 3, 2026.
