Chittorgarh temples see large crowds for Shardiya Navratri

The Shardiya Navratri festival has commenced across various Shaktipeeth temples in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, drawing large crowds of devotees.

At the Shobhavati Mata Temple in Akola, the ritual of Ghat Sthapana was performed in the presence of local villagers and community leaders. The nine-day celebration includes the lighting of an eternal flame (Akhand Jyot), daily devotional singing (Bhajan-Kirtan), and traditional Lavani performances.

Other major religious sites, including the Kalika Mata Temple located within the Chittorgarh Fort, saw significant surges in attendance, particularly due to the holiday. Devotees traveled long distances, including on foot, to offer prayers at temples such as Jhatla Mata, Joganiya Mata, Avari Mata, Bayan Mata, and Sagra Mata. Local authorities and temple administrations implemented measures to manage the large crowds and ensure safe access to the shrines.
