Chivas defeats Necaxa 1-0 to end four-game winless streak
Chivas de Guadalajara secured a 1-0 victory against Necaxa during Matchday 13 of the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament at Estadio Akron. The decisive goal arrived in the 77th minute when a low cross from Roberto Alvarado was deflected into the net by Necaxa defender Agustín Oliveros.
Despite the win, Chivas faced challenges including a series of player injuries and the absence of Brian Gutiérrez and Ángel Sepúlveda due to muscular issues. Goalkeeper Raúl “Tala” Rangel was instrumental in the victory, making several key saves to maintain a clean sheet, particularly during a critical period in the second half.
With this result, Chivas moves to second place in the general standings with 23 points, trailing leader América by one point. Necaxa remains in the penultimate position with nine points, continuing a difficult season under manager Juan Reynoso.
