Chivas focuses on defensive strength and attacking reinforcements
Guadalajara (Chivas) currently leads the Apertura 2026 tournament in clean sheets, recording six matches without conceding a goal in 14 played rounds. This defensive solidity, led by goalkeeper Raúl ‘Tala’ Rangel and manager Gabriel Milito, places them ahead of América, Querétaro, Tijuana, and León.
Despite their defensive success, the club is looking to bolster its offensive capabilities for the 2027 season. Reports indicate that the management is targeting Mexican talents Tahiel Jiménez from Santos Laguna and Alí Ávila from Querétaro to improve finishing efficiency. While the club may have a limited budget for the winter market, they are reportedly considering investments in these players to address the lack of clinical scoring in front of the goal.
