Chivas rejects Spartak Moscow offer for Roberto Alvarado

Chivas de Guadalajara has rejected an official transfer offer from Spartak Moscow for Mexican midfielder Roberto Alvarado. The Russian club reportedly proposed approximately $8 million for the player, but the Guadalajara board deemed the amount insufficient and expressed a desire to retain Alvarado as a key piece for their title ambitions.

While the European transfer window has closed in most regions, the Russian market remains open until September 10, leaving a window for Spartak Moscow to potentially improve its offer. Reports indicate that Alvarado himself may also be hesitant to move to the Russian Premier League.

A potential sale would also impact Cruz Azul, which holds 50 percent of Alvarado’s rights and would be entitled to half of any transfer fee negotiated between the two clubs.
