Chiyoda Town to host seminar on temple-based community revitalization

Gunma Prefecture's Regional Revitalization Department will host an online seminar titled ‘Experiencing India and Town Development at a Temple’ on October 1, 2026. The event will be broadcast directly from Koon-ji Temple, a historic site in Chiyoda Town with over 1,200 years of history.

The seminar aims to highlight the ‘Chiyoda Town India Festa in Koon-ji Temple,’ an annual autumn event featuring authentic Indian music, dance, and cuisine. Guest speakers, including the deputy chief priest of Koon-ji Temple and a member of the festival's executive committee, will discuss how cross-cultural exchange is being used to revitalize the local community and encourage migration and regional engagement.
