Chloe the dog inducted into Canadian Animal Hall of Fame
A Boxer-Black Mouth Cur mix named Chloe has been inducted into the Canadian Animal Hall of Fame for her bravery in protecting her owners during a black bear attack in Nipigon.
Last September, an aggressive black bear entered the home of Colette and Joe Shwetz. During the encounter, the bear charged the owners, but Chloe intervened by grabbing the bear’s hind leg to distract it. The family managed to drive the bear out of the house and call emergency services, though both owners required stitches and Chloe sustained a deep gash that has continued to heal for over a year.
Colette Shwetz noted that without Chloe’s actions, the situation could have been fatal for the family.
