Chlum u Třeboně church restoration fundraiser concludes in October

A public collection to restore the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Chlum u Třeboně will conclude on October 31. The church was severely damaged by a fire on March 25, 2024, which impacted the roof, ceilings, floors, and rare organs, though most furniture was saved from soot and ash.

To date, approximately 2,075,000 CZK has been donated to the transparent account, with roughly 791,000 CZK remaining available for use. Restoration efforts have already included repairing the southern side aisle roof and cleaning plaster with pulsed lasers.

Planned investments for 2024 through 2027 total nearly six million CZK. Future work includes restoring the organs, electrical installations, and a large-scale interior renovation in 2027 to repair windows, doors, stucco, and rare wall paintings.
