Cho Kuk rejects merger rumors and criticizes Democratic Party policies

Cho Kuk, head of the Rebuilding Korea Party's innovation research institute, has intensified his criticism of the Democratic Party of Korea and the current administration, positioning himself as a ‘red team’ to provide critical oversight for the success of President Lee Jae-myung.

Cho has specifically targeted the Democratic Party regarding real estate tax policies, arguing that the decision to revise comprehensive real estate tax plans protects the interests of the top 1% rather than the middle class and common people. He also addressed the legal proceedings involving President Lee, stating that while he supports the dismissal of charges, the process must be handled carefully to avoid legal and political failures.

Regarding rumors of a political merger between the two parties, Cho and Rebuilding Korea Party leader Shin Jang-sik have denied that any practical discussions are underway. They emphasized that mutual trust must be restored before any merger can be considered, criticizing the Democratic Party for prioritizing size over shared values and for recent appointments that they claim contradict messages of unity.
