Cho Kuk criticizes internal political dissent and demands apologies

Cho Kuk, head of the Rebuilding Korea Party’s Innovation Policy Research Institute, has issued strong criticisms against certain journalists and commentators within the pro-Lee Jae-myung camp. Cho described himself and his party as a ‘red team’ acting to ensure the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration by providing necessary internal criticism.

He condemned those who label internal dissent as being ‘enemies’ or ‘pro-People Power Party,’ comparing such logic to the methods used by Stalin and Kim Il-sung to purge opposition. Cho argued that in a democratic society, a red team is not a bureaucratic entity and has the right to voice opinions publicly.

Additionally, Cho demanded an apology from certain factions within the Democratic Party regarding what he termed ‘ideological attacks’ and false claims. He specifically cited the labeling of the Rebuilding Korea Party’s land policies as ‘socialist’ and rumors of secret pacts between himself and other political figures. He stated that restoring trust and addressing these accusations are fundamental prerequisites for any discussions regarding party mergers.
