Cho Kuk urges welfare investment and criticizes political conspiracies

Cho Kuk, head of the Rebuilding Korea Party’s innovation policy research institute, has called for significant investment in welfare and housing policies to avoid failure in the 2028 general elections. During a lecture in Jangseong, South Jeolla Province, Cho emphasized that while fostering growth industries like semiconductors and AI is essential, the government must also address inequality through massive investments in childcare and housing to support the basic needs of citizens.

Regarding political alliances, Cho stated that merging with the Democratic Party should be based on shared values and policy consensus rather than simply increasing numbers. He also addressed the impeachment issue of Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae, suggesting the decision now rests with the Democratic Party.

In a separate critique, Cho condemned certain commentators and YouTubers, whom he referred to as ‘New Lee Jae-myung’ supporters, for spreading conspiracy theories regarding Rhyu Si-min and the SillaJen case. He characterized these claims as malicious black propaganda aimed at political gain, noting that previous investigations had already found no substance to allegations involving Rhyu Si-min.
