CHO training course accelerates as demand for well-being experts grows
The training course for Chief Happiness Officers (CHO), designed to balance employee well-being with organizational performance, is seeing accelerated demand. The interval between course sessions has been reduced from six months to approximately three months, with the third term scheduled for October 2026.
Co-hosted by the Happy People and Organization Building Support Association (HHOSA) and Senju Human Design Works, the program is attracting not only corporate employees but also human resources consultants and executives from CHRO service providers. These professionals are enrolling to deepen their expertise in organizational development.
The rising interest in the CHO role is attributed to complex human resource challenges, such as low employee engagement and high turnover. As AI advances, there is an increasing emphasis on interpersonal skills like empathy and leadership—skills that the World Economic Forum identifies as difficult for AI to replicate. The curriculum integrates well-being theory, psychological safety, and dialogue skills to prepare participants for roles as internal or external CHOs.
