Choi Bo-young, a high-ranking official from the Ministry of Education, has been appointed as the first Planning and Coordination Director of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special Metropolitan Office of Education. The appointment, made by the Ministry of Education on the 18th, aims to stabilize the organization following its launch in July.
Choi, a native of Naju, holds a doctorate in educational policy from Indiana University and has extensive experience in various roles within the Ministry of Education, including managing teacher policies and overseeing school responses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her primary mandate is to coordinate policies and foster collaboration between the previously separate administrative systems of Gwangju and Jeonnam.
