Choi Hyoung-woo sets postseason age record with home run

Samsung Lions veteran Choi Hyoung-woo set a new record for the oldest player to hit a home run in the KBO League postseason during Game 2 of the playoff series against the KIA Tigers on October 27. Playing at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, Choi hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 7th inning off KIA pitcher Kim Bum-soo.

At 42 years, 10 months, and 11 days old, Choi broke his own previous record. He also established new milestones for the oldest player to appear in, record a hit in, and drive in runs during the postseason.

Samsung manager Park Jin-man had moved Choi back into the starting lineup as a left fielder for Game 2 to bolster the team's offense following a loss in Game 1. Despite concerns regarding wind conditions at the stadium, Choi contributed significantly to the game with a hit, an assist in the field, and the record-breaking home run.
