Choi Won-jun reaches 200 hits in historic KBO League season

KT Wiz outfielder Choi Won-jun achieved a historic milestone by recording his 200th hit of the season during a game against the Kiwoom Heroes at Gocheok Sky Dome on October 6. He is only the third player in KBO League history to reach 200 hits in a single season, following Seo Geon-chang in 2014 and Victor Reyes in 2024. Notably, Choi is the second domestic player to achieve this feat, the first in 12 years.

After joining KT Wiz as a free agent from the NC Dinos, Choi has played a pivotal role in leading the team to a regular-season championship. Following his 200th hit, he is now in a tight race with Victor Reyes for the single-season most hits record. While both players currently sit at 201 hits, Choi has fewer remaining games to play due to KT's schedule, leaving him with three games to attempt to surpass Reyes's 202-hit mark.
