Choi Yena reveals childhood battle with cancer

Singer Choi Yena, a former member of the group IZ*ONE, recently shared details about her childhood battle with cancer during an appearance on the MBC program ‘Omniscient Interfering View’.

Choi revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of four or five, a time when medical professionals expressed little hope for her recovery. She described the severity of her condition, noting that her parents were determined to save her at all costs.

Additionally, the singer recounted a secondary health crisis during elementary school involving a leg injury that doctors feared would leave her unable to walk. She credited her recovery to her mother’s unconventional rehabilitation methods, which included encouraging movement in a public bathhouse pool to regain mobility.
