Choice Hotels acquires Harvest Hosts for $130 million

Choice Hotels International has announced the acquisition of Harvest Hosts, a membership club for recreational vehicle (RV) travelers, for $130 million. This move marks the hotel franchisor’s first expansion beyond traditional brick-and-mortar lodging into the outdoor travel economy.

Harvest Hosts provides RV owners access to overnight parking at over 5,000 locations across North America, including farms, wineries, breweries, and museums. The acquisition is the first major deal under the leadership of permanent president and CEO Dom Dragisich.

In addition to this acquisition, Choice Hotels is expanding its upscale footprint with the opening of six new properties under its Cambria Hotels and Ascend Collection brands. These new locations include hotels in Colorado, Florida, Vermont, and Wisconsin, contributing to an upscale portfolio that currently exceeds 300 open hotels in the United States.
