Choiseul Province identifies priority agricultural value chains

A three-day Agricultural Investment for Markets and Nutrition (AIM-N) workshop was held in Taro to strengthen agricultural partnerships and identify priority value chains for Choiseul Province.

The workshop brought together government officials, farmers, private-sector representatives, and other stakeholders to improve agricultural production, market access, and livelihoods. A key outcome of the event was the establishment of the Choiseul Provincial Coordination Committee (PCC), which will facilitate coordination between the AIM-N project, the provincial government, and other stakeholders.

Participants identified coconut, cocoa, cassava, and ginger as the four priority agricultural value chains for development. Discussions focused on the entire lifecycle of these products, including production, processing, transportation, marketing, and consumer access.
