Choluteca sex workers report critical condom shortage

Sex workers in Choluteca, Honduras, are reporting a critical shortage of condoms in local health centers. Representatives of the sector have issued urgent calls to health authorities to restock these supplies, emphasizing that condoms are indispensable tools for preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.

In addition to the lack of medical supplies, workers expressed frustration regarding a perceived lack of support from the current municipal administration. They noted that while previous local leadership engaged with them, the current mayor has not addressed their needs or established communication channels. The workers are demanding regular medical check-ups and consistent access to protective resources to ensure their safety and health.
