Chopard unveils L. U. C Essence of Shunga unique timepiece

Chopard has unveiled the L. U. C Essence of Shunga, a unique timepiece created exclusively for the ART in TIME gallery. The watch marks the opening of a new gallery location in the Ginza district of Tokyo.

The creation integrates Swiss high horology with Shunga, a traditional Japanese erotic art form from the Edo period. The dial features six miniature scenes handcrafted using the traditional Urushi lacquer technique.

The watch is housed in an 18-carat ethical rose gold case measuring 40 mm in diameter and 8.1 mm in thickness. It utilizes a manufacture L. U. C automatic movement with a micro-rotor architecture to maintain a slim profile. The timepiece is completed with a burgundy alligator leather strap.
