Chopin Airport implements new security scanners and increased enforcement

Chopin Airport in Warsaw is implementing operational changes and increased security enforcement. The airport has begun deploying new 3D scanners to improve the speed of security checks. These advanced machines allow passengers to pass through without removing items from bags and relax the strict limits on liquids, permitting containers up to 2 liters. While the installation caused temporary congestion, the new technology is currently operational in certain zones, such as Zone A.

Separately, authorities conducted a joint operation involving the Border Guard and local police near the airport to monitor foreign drivers working for ride-hailing applications. The crackdown resulted in the detention of five individuals for providing paid transport without proper authorization. Several drivers were found to be using expired visas or lacked legal residency status. Consequently, administrative procedures have been initiated to deport the individuals, with some receiving bans from entering the Schengen Area for periods ranging from 1.5 to 3 years.
