Chopok panoramic trail expanded with new thematic stations

The Chopok panoramic trail, which connects the Liptov and Horehronie regions in the Low Tatras, has been expanded with new thematic stations. The project has grown from eight original stops to 13 thematic locations.

New additions include a relaxation zone featuring wooden loungers for viewing the landscape, and two orientation aids known as ‘smerovníkohľady’ to help visitors identify landmarks. To assist skialpinists and hikers during winter conditions, a three-meter winter marking element has also been installed. Some of these new features are located near the Chopok summit, while others are situated approximately 2.5 kilometers away in the Demänovská dolina area.

The project aims to make the mountain ridge more accessible to families with children and less strenuous hikers. Slovak Olympian Zuzana Bernardová serves as a guarantor for the project, promoting the natural beauty of the Liptov region through social media.
