Chora Sfakion school complex approved for major upgrade

The Chora Sfakion Middle and High School complex has been approved for a full upgrade under the ‘Marietta Giannakou 2’ program. As the only secondary education institution in the municipality, the school serves all students in the Sfakia region.

The planned renovation aims to modernize the facility to ensure a safe and functional environment for students and teachers. Key works include interior and exterior painting, waterproofing repairs, and the construction or repair of access ramps and mechanical lifts for people with disabilities. Additionally, the project will involve the construction or replacement of basketball and volleyball courts, as well as the development of playground areas and the painting of perimeter fencing.

Mayor Ioannis Zervos stated that the inclusion of the school in the program is a significant step for the local community, emphasizing that the modernization of sports facilities will benefit both the student body and the wider public.
