Choral and classical music performances held in Bodegraven and Rheden
Musical performances took place in the Netherlands, featuring works by classical composers in Bodegraven and Rheden.
In Bodegraven, the Regionaal Projectkoor, organized by the Evertshuis, performed Brahms’s ‘Ein deutsches Requiem’ at the Ontmoetingskerk. The program also included works by Franz Schubert, featuring pianist Ramon van Engelenhoven and soprano Judith Weusten. The choir, consisting of fifty members from the Groene Hart region, performed the Brahms piece under the direction of Jan Laan after only six rehearsals.
In Rheden, the Utrechts Vocaal Ensemble presented the ‘Love & Loss’ concert at the Dorpskerk. Led by conductor Johannes Gierl, the ensemble performed English choral music by composers such as Hubert Parry, Edward Elgar, Charles Villiers Stanford, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, and Herbert Howells. The event, attended by over 120 people, marked the beginning of the Dorpskerk’s 2026-2027 concert series.
