Chos Malal and San Rafael to gain new passenger transport connection
A new passenger transport service will connect Chos Malal in northern Neuquén with San Rafael in Mendoza starting November 1. Announced by Neuquén Governor Rolando Figueroa, the service is supported by private investment and will operate with two weekly frequencies to facilitate travel for students, workers, and tourists.
The new route aims to improve connectivity in a region experiencing growth due to mining and oil industries. Scheduled departures include trips from Chos Malal on Sundays and Wednesdays at midnight, and from San Rafael on Tuesdays and Fridays at 21:00.
In addition to the transport service, the provincial government has outlined 147 planned works for the Alto Neuquén region, including 106 projects integrated into the 2027 budget. These infrastructure improvements encompass road paving, hospitals, water and sewage networks, housing, schools, and energy projects.
