Chou Tien-chen reaches Arctic Open quarter-finals

Taiwanese badminton star Chou Tien-chen has advanced to the quarter-finals of the BWF Arctic Open in Vantaa, Finland, as he pursues a third consecutive title at the Super 500 event.

In the round of 16, Chou defeated Japan's Yuta Ohno in straight sets, avenging a previous loss to the player during the Taipei Open earlier this year. After a competitive start, Chou secured the match with scores of 21-16 and 21-19.

Prior to facing Ohno, Chou secured his place in the tournament by defeating France's Arnaud Merkle in a three-game battle lasting 72 minutes. Chou, currently ranked third in the world, has won the Arctic Open in both 2024 and 2025.
