CHP announces official congress schedule and criticizes economic targets

The Republican People's Party (CHP) has officially launched its congress process. CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı announced a detailed schedule: membership lists will be suspended on October 28, followed by district delegate elections on November 11. District congresses are set to begin on December 12, with provincial congresses starting on January 16. The process is expected to conclude by February 14, after which the Party Assembly will determine the date for the main convention.

During a press conference at the party headquarters, Sarı also addressed the party's 103rd anniversary celebrations and criticized the government's economic policies. He highlighted significant deviations in the Medium-Term Program (OVP), noting that the 2026 inflation target rose from 16% to 28%, and the 2027 target increased from 9% to 21%. Additionally, he pointed out downward revisions in economic growth targets for both 2026 and 2027.
