Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu addresses political ethics at CHP camp in Bolu
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu addressed the media during a three-day parliamentary group evaluation camp in Abant, Bolu. Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that the party's primary focus for the upcoming legislative term includes political ethics and economic developments.
Kılıçdaroğlu advocated for the introduction of a ‘Political Ethics Law’ to combat corruption and political pollution. He stated that the party aims to return to its founding principles and moral codes, asserting, “I never had a claim that I would be CHP chairman for life.” He also criticized corruption within politics, specifically mentioning issues like stock market manipulation and the need for accountability among elected officials, including mayors.
Other CHP members attending the camp, including Hatay Deputy Nermin Yıldırım Kara and Tokat Deputy Kadim Durmaz, noted that the meeting serves to unify the party against the long-standing AKP government and to prepare a vision document for the new legislative period. The camp aims to address national issues and regional stability in light of current geopolitical tensions.
