CHP leaders call for social state reforms and criticize corruption

Republican People's Party (CHP) officials Necdet Saraç and Gürsel Tekin held a press conference in Istanbul to address political developments and economic concerns in Turkey.

Necdet Saraç emphasized the necessity of establishing a new social state and argued that the second century of the Republic must be crowned with democracy. He addressed the situation in Üsküdar following the arrest of Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, stating that the CHP's stance is to protect the will of the people and prevent the AKP from taking control of the municipality.

Gürsel Tekin criticized what he described as disproportionate wealth accumulation through the exploitation of state resources. He claimed that much of the wealth in Turkey is derived from 'zoning wealth'—gaining riches through land and real estate manipulation rather than through export or import—and called for the repeal of the Political Parties Law enacted during the September 12 era to reform the political structure.
