CHP leaders discuss strategic corridors and regional party leadership

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), discussed the strategic importance of the Zengezur Corridor during a visit to the Eurasia Strategic Research Platform (ASAD). He emphasized that the corridor is vital for Turkey's 'Central Turkey Project,' noting its potential to connect Central Asia to the Mediterranean via Mersin Port. Kılıçdaroğlu also highlighted the necessity of investing in scientific research and nurturing high-talent individuals to drive national progress.

In Trabzon, political activity is increasing ahead of the CHP's provincial congress, scheduled to run from December 2026 to February 2027. Former provincial chairman Ömer Hacısalihoğlu has emerged as a potential candidate for the leadership position. While Hacısalihoğlu stated he currently has no intention of running, he noted he would not let the 'flag fall' if the party required his leadership. He also expressed his belief that many former CHP members who moved to the Yeni Parti will eventually return to the main party.
