CHP leaders Özgür Özel and Zeynel Emre pledge continued resistance amid investigations

CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel addressed supporters in Adana’s Çukurova district, helping residents during a crowd surge and vowing the party will not retreat from the streets. He criticised ongoing investigations into the CHP, said the party lacks buses or buildings for mobilisation, and promised to either open a new path or find one, urging supporters to join the effort.

CHP Istanbul MP Zeynel Emre, speaking at a press conference, announced plans to apply to the courts for an extraordinary congress. He condemned the removal of elected party officials in several provinces, denounced what he described as politically motivated arrests of academics and civil‑society figures following the NATO summit, and accused the ruling party of widespread corruption and patronage. Emre affirmed the party’s commitment to continue politics with the public rather than under the influence of the current government.
