CHP MP Ömer Fethi Gürer criticizes 2027 budget proposal

CHP Niğde Deputy Ömer Fethi Gürer has criticized the 2027 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, stating it fails to address the needs of workers, farmers, tradesmen, retirees, the disabled, and industrialists. Gürer argued that the budget is primarily structured around interest and taxation rather than providing solutions for marginalized groups, such as those awaiting retirement steps, internship and apprenticeship victims, and subcontracted workers.

According to Gürer, the budget anticipates approximately 1.16 trillion lira in tax revenue from alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, and games of chance. This amount represents roughly 5 percent of the total projected tax revenue of 22.14 trillion lira. Specifically, tax revenue from alcoholic beverages is expected to rise by at least 31 percent in 2027. Gürer suggested that revenues from these sectors should be allocated toward combating addiction and providing treatment services.
