CHP officials address mining safety and teacher relocation issues in Turkey

Republican People's Party (CHP) Vice President Yıldırım Kaya addressed labor and safety concerns during a party training program in Zonguldak. Kaya emphasized the importance of occupational health and safety in coal mines, calling for independent audits and increased union participation in oversight processes. He noted that Zonguldak holds significant historical importance for the Turkish working class and urged for better employment opportunities to prevent youth migration from the region.

In a separate matter, CHP Tekirdağ Deputy Nurten Yontar called on the Ministry of National Education to resolve issues regarding teacher relocation requests based on family unity, health, and personal safety. Yontar argued that forcing educators to live apart from their families negatively impacts both family life and professional performance. She requested greater transparency regarding vacant norm positions and more predictable criteria for excuse-based appointments.
