CHP officials call for political solutions in Diyarbakır

Republican People's Party (CHP) officials held a press conference in Diyarbakır to discuss regional issues and the broader political landscape in Turkey. CHP Diyarbakır Provincial Chairman Sertaç Eke and CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı emphasized that a lasting peace requires more than just the cessation of violence.

Eke proposed a solution model based on “understanding, justice, and food” (anlayış, adalet ve aş) to address local challenges such as unemployment and development gaps. He called for monthly meetings between all political parties and civil society organizations in the city to address regional problems through collective intelligence.

Müslim Sarı stated that while the cessation of weapons is a significant step, the Kurdish issue cannot be solved through security measures alone. He argued that economic development, cultural rights, and legal supremacy must be part of the discussion. Sarı noted that a historical opportunity exists to create a political consensus involving the state, the government, the opposition, and various sectors of society. He added that no solution in Turkey can be successful without the participation and contribution of the CHP.
