Chérif Souleymane evacuated to Morocco for medical treatment
Chérif Souleymane, the only Guinean Ballon d’Or winner and an iconic figure of Hafia FC, has been evacuated to Morocco for medical treatment. The 81-year-old former international footballer arrived in Morocco in the early hours of Monday morning.
Reports indicate that Souleymane’s children, supported by private donors, organized the medical trip due to a lack of financial assistance from the Guinean Ministry of Sports or the Guinean Football Federation. While he has arrived in the country, there are concerns regarding his admission to a medical clinic, as the facility is reportedly awaiting guarantees of payment before proceeding with his care.
The situation has prompted calls from sports consultants for Guinean authorities to intervene urgently to ensure the former football legend receives the necessary medical attention.
