Chris Bell returns to Miami Dolphins practice after injury

Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Chris Bell has returned to practice after being activated from the non-football injury list. Bell, a third-round draft pick out of Louisville, has been recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament sustained last November.

Bell has participated in individual drills and limited team activities while wearing a non-contact red jersey. Head coach Jeff Hafley noted that while there is “always hope” regarding Bell’s availability for the season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 13, the team is proceeding cautiously. Bell is expected to continue a day-to-day progression to regain football shape and timing with the quarterbacks.

His return comes as the Dolphins rebuild their receiving corps following the departures of veteran stars Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The team has integrated several new players, including rookie Caleb Douglas and Kevin Coleman Jr., to fill the void.
