Chris Brown denied request to delay financial disclosures in $13M lawsuit

A Los Angeles judge has rejected a request by singer Chris Brown to delay disclosing his financial records to Maria Avila, the former housekeeper who was awarded a $13 million judgment against him. Brown had sought an additional month to compile information regarding his income sources, but the court denied the request, ordering him to provide specifics on concert payments, appearance fees, merchandise revenue, and YouTube earnings.

The legal battle stems from a December 2020 incident at Brown’s Tarzana home, where a 200-pound Caucasian Shepherd named Hades mauled Avila. A jury previously found Brown liable for the attack, which resulted in Avila suffering permanent facial disfigurement, vision loss, and nerve damage.

With the case moving into the collection stage, the ruling allows Avila to pursue Brown’s royalties and income from his current nationwide tour with Usher to satisfy the judgment.
