Chris Brown disputes attempt to seize tour earnings for dog attack judgment

Singer Chris Brown is legally contesting efforts by his former housekeeper, Maria Avila, to seize his earnings to satisfy a $13 million court judgment. The judgment stems from a 2020 incident in Los Angeles where Avila claimed she was severely bitten by one of Brown's dogs. While Brown has maintained that Avila provoked the animal, a jury previously ruled in her favor.

Avila has moved to direct Brown's current and future income—including royalties and earnings from his ongoing joint tour with Usher—toward the debt until it is paid in full. Brown's legal team has filed an opposition, arguing that Avila's demands are excessively broad and exceed legal limits for damages.

Additionally, Brown's attorneys are seeking a new trial, alleging jury misconduct, procedural irregularities, and insufficient findings of innocence. A court hearing regarding the request for a new trial is scheduled for September 22.
