Chris Brown ordered to pay $13M to former housekeeper

A Los Angeles judge has ruled that singer Chris Brown must use his royalties and tour income to satisfy a $13 million judgment awarded to his former housekeeper, Maria Avila.

The ruling follows an incident in which a Caucasian Shepherd dog belonging to Brown attacked Avila. According to legal representatives, the attack resulted in permanent facial disfigurement, scarring, and vision loss.

Judge Huey P. Cotton issued the order to ensure the payment of the settlement, noting that Avila has the right to collect from Brown’s present and future earnings that are not protected by legal exemptions. This includes income from his current R&B Tour. It remains unclear if Brown will appeal the decision.
