Chris Brown ordered to pay former housekeeper from tour income

A Los Angeles judge has granted Maria Avila, a former housekeeper for singer Chris Brown, an assignment order to collect a multimillion-dollar judgment from Brown’s tour income and music royalties.

The ruling follows a 2020 incident at Brown’s Tarzana, California, home, where Avila was attacked by a 200-pound Caucasian shepherd named Hades. The attack resulted in severe injuries, requiring skin grafts and causing permanent scarring. A jury previously found Brown liable for the incident.

Avila sought the assignment order to intercept funds before they reach Brown’s accounts, alleging that he had made no effort to satisfy the debt. The order allows for the collection of earnings from Brown’s current co-headlining stadium tour with Usher, as well as his music royalties, to satisfy the judgment which reportedly exceeds $13 million.
