Chris Crow, North Tahoe resident, passes away at 68

Christopher Jude Crow, a lifelong North Tahoe resident, died on May 31, 2026 at the age of 68. Born during a spring blizzard at the Deer Park Lodge Ski Resort, he grew up in Incline Village, attending local schools and participating in baseball, track, and skiing.

After a brief stint in college computer science, Crow entered the trades, working for Cangemi and Sons Plumbing and building homes on the North Shore during the 1980s. He volunteered with the North Lake Tahoe Fire Department and coached little‑league baseball, while maintaining active membership in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

An avid outdoorsman, Crow spent countless hours hiking, skiing, and exploring the region’s trails, often accompanied by rescue dogs he adopted, most recently a dog named Raj rescued from Highway 20. He was also a dedicated fan of baseball, traveling with his longtime friend Paul to iconic ballparks, and a follower of the Grateful Dead.

Friends remember him for his love of solitude, dogs, and the mountain landscape, as well as his contributions to the community as a volunteer firefighter and coach.
