Chris Fagan reportedly apologises to Jordan Clark for All-Australian remarks

Retiring Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan has reportedly reached out to Fremantle Dockers player Jordan Clark to apologise for comments made during the Lions’ best-and-fairest awards night.

During an emotional farewell speech following three consecutive premierships, Fagan addressed Lions defender Darcy Wilmot, stating, “If that Jordan Clark from Fremantle can get picked, I reckon you can, anyway,” in reference to Wilmot’s All-Australian selection status. The remark drew criticism from Fremantle supporters and wider AFL fans.

Journalist Cal Twomey reported that Fagan contacted Clark to “apologise and clear up his comments.” As of the latest reports, neither the Brisbane Lions nor Fremantle have issued official club statements confirming the contact, and Clark has not made a public response.
