Chris Gordon killed in drag racing crash at Ohio track

Veteran drag racer and Discovery Channel star Chris ‘Block’ Gordon died following a crash at KD Motorsports Park in South Webster, Ohio, on Saturday.

Organizers confirmed the accident in a social media post, describing Gordon as an ‘absolute legend of our sport.’ Medical staff, firefighters, and EMTs were on the scene immediately, but no further details regarding the specifics of the crash were released.

Gordon, 40, gained national recognition as a team leader on the Discovery series ‘Street Outlaws: Fastest in America,’ where he famously drove a 1979 Ford Fairmont known as ‘Mayhem.’ Originally from South Carolina, he was a prominent figure in the national drag racing community.
