Chris Jenkins celebrates 50 years of milk delivery

Chris Jenkins of the Forest of Dean has marked 50 years of service as a milkman. Jenkins began his career in August 1976 at the age of 11, working a Saturday job for Parkdene Dairy.

After leaving school at 16, he transitioned to full-time milk delivery. For 28 years, he also served with the Cinderford Retained Fire Service. Jenkins officially took over the business in January 2000 and currently operates Parkdene Dairy alongside his wife, Karen Jenkins.

The business, originally founded in the early 1960s by Harold Wilkes, now serves approximately 650 customers across areas including Cinderford, Littledean, and Coleford. Jenkins noted that eight of his current customers are individuals he began delivering to when he first started at age 11.
