Chris Jericho says AEW should focus on next generation of stars

Veteran wrestler Chris Jericho has stated that All Elite Wrestling (AEW) should no longer be built around him, emphasizing the importance of elevating the promotion's next generation of talent. Speaking with The Wrestling Classic, the former inaugural AEW World Champion noted that while he remains a foundational 'MVP to the brand,' the business should focus on building stars like Kevin Knight and Will Ospreay who can eventually take over.

Jericho, 55, expressed that his current role is to contribute to the company in whatever capacity AEW President Tony Khan sees fit. He noted that his recent appearances carry merit because fans enjoy seeing him after his recent return to programming, especially given the uncertainty of how much longer he will compete. He also highlighted the benefit of AEW's roster, which allows him to work with many new performers he has never faced before.
